I have used magnetic therapy for years with favorable results. (I own a back pad and a head wrap from Nikken.) Long ago, I also tried a borrowed Nikken bed pad for a few weeks but did not perceive any results in my sleep. The new System 4000 pad I bought from Therion is much stronger than the earlier one I tried.
The best result I have seen so far with the bed pad is the improvement to my knees. They are doing so much better. My shoulder was frozen about a year ago and I went through PT, which had a good result but did not return things completely to normal. In 1999, a study was conducted to determine if the chronic pain and sleep disturbances experienced by patients with fibromyalgia can be improved by sleeping on a magnetic mattress pad.
Researchers concluded that sleeping on a magnetic mattress pad provides statistically significant and clinically relevant pain relief and sleep improvement in subjects with fibromyalgia. No adverse reactions were noted during the 16-week trial period. 20 female patients completed the full study.
